Choco from Setúbal is served in a creative way in fifty restaurants, from the 5th to the 14th of April, in a gastronomic week promoted by the Setúbal City Council that includes, among others, a commented tasting and an educational workshop.
Over the ten days of the event, in addition to the traditional fried cuttlefish, which has a captive and prominent place throughout the year in the menus of the municipality's restaurants, are joined gastronomic proposals, some more conservative, others more daring and innovative, which reveal new flavors of this cephalopod mollusk.
Cuttlefish favada, at Casa do Peixe, cuttlefish risotto nero, at Bistro & Tapas, fried river cuttlefish, at O Douradinho, cuttlefish nigiri, at Omotenashi, cuttlefish pica-pau, at Pinga Amor 2, and cuttlefish curry , at Tasca da Avenida, are some of the proposals on the restaurant menus in Setúbal.
Cuttlefish Week, part of a gastronomic cycle organized by the Setúbal City Council under the “Setúbal, Terra de Peixe” brand, promoting regional products and which, at the same time, encourages local restaurants, has three initiatives open to the public .
On the 6th, at 11 am, in Praça de Bocage, the “Choco BFF” initiative will take place, a surprise prepared by the Setúbal School of Hotel and Tourism, while on the 00th, at 13:15 pm, the Library will host the pedagogical workshop “Choco and its life cycle”, with free registration, until the 30th, on this link.
On the 14th, at 17pm, at Quinta de Alcube, there will be a new session of the “Probable Encounters” cycle, with chef Luís Alves preparing proposals based on cuttlefish, which are accompanied by wines from that Setubal winery. Registration, until the 00th, is done at at this address.
Cuttlefish Week, organized with the support of the Setúbal Hotel and Tourism School, Quinta de Alcube, the Setúbal Península Wine Route, the Setúbal Península Regional Wine Commission and Gertal, counts in this edition with the involvement of fifty restaurants.
