Sardines from Setúbal are on the menus of more than fifty restaurants in the municipality, during a gastronomic week from June 23 to July 2, which includes, among others, an interpretive tour and a pedagogical workshop.
The Sardine Week, organized by the Municipality of Setúbal, counts in this edition with the involvement of 48 restaurants that, over these ten days, highlight this fish so typical of the Sadina community on their menus.
The Sardine Week, promoted under the “Setúbal, Terra de Peixe” brand, with the support of Quinta de Catralvos and the Parish Council of Gâmbia-Pontes-Alto da Guerra, also offers activities that help to get to know this fish.
On the 24th, at 17 pm, the Public Library will host, at the central services, a pedagogical workshop for those over 00 years old, with free registration, running until the 3nd, on this link.
There follows, on the 25th, at 10:00 am, an interpretive tour, free of charge, in a place to be arranged with the participants, for people over 10 years old, with registration here, running until the 22th.
The last day of Sardine Week, July 2nd, features the “Probable Encounters” session at 18 pm, promoted with the support of Docapesca, which takes place at the Força de Todos Housing and Economic Construction Cooperative. The activity, for people over 00 years old, which includes a tasting commented by chef Isabel Fonseca, accompanied by wines from Quinta de Catralvos, is free and registration is open until the 10th. on this link.
This edition of Sardine Week also includes, on the first day, on June 23, the initiative “Arraial de São João – Fisherman's Petiscos”, to be held between 12:00 and 02:00 am in the Urban Park of Albarquel.

Parreirinha do Sado, Peixe no Largo, Pinga Amor 2, Rebarca, O Novo Lídia, O Migas, Rio Azul, O Velho Lídia, Xtoria, Restinguinha, Solar do Marquês, Tasca do Toninho, Tasca do Xico da Cana, Kefish and Verde and White are also part of the event.
Sardine Week is included in the set of gastronomic events promoted throughout the year with the aim of boosting the local economy and, at the same time, promoting the region's products, combining tourism with gastronomy.
