The Moscatel de Setúbal is celebrated on the 10th and 12th of May with a special program organized by the City Council that includes the “Moscatdinner” harmonized dinner, the presentation of three films and a talk about this fortified wine.
The Moscatel Day celebrations include, on the 10th, the “Moscatdinner” dinner, which is served from 19 pm at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Setúbal and which features a bold and innovative menu specially prepared and harmonized with Moscatel de Setubal.
The repast opens with Moscatel de Setúbal Tônico & Canela, followed by the muscat meringue amuse-bouche, a starter of fried prawns with emulas of the two heads and muscatel gel, and the fish dish with mullet braised with muscat velvety and potato fondant.
After a muscat and lemon slush for appetizers, dinner continues with a meat dish, duck breast with beetroot and muscat reduction, culminating with a sweet temptation made of Azeitão pies with muscat ice cream and a digestif with Moscatel de Setúbal 110.
Dinner, which includes water, juices, red and white wines and coffee, costs 30 euros per person, while children from 4 to 12 years old pay 15 euros. Bookings, mandatory, can be made until May 8 by email address gpe@mun-setubal.pt.
In addition to dinner, the Moscatel Day celebrations initiative includes the presentation of prizes to the winners of the cocktails of the Setúbal Hotel and Tourism School.
The program also reserves, on 12, at 18 pm, at Casa da Baía with the presentation of three films dedicated to Moscatel de Setúbal and made within the scope of the Adega à Garrafeira project and the gathering “Moscatel de Setúbal – a relaxed conversation about the favorite drink dos setubalenses (and not only)", both free of charge.
The celebrations are supported by the Setúbal School of Hospitality and Tourism, the Setúbal Peninsula Regional Wine Commission, the Setúbal Peninsula Wine Route, the Setúbal Peninsula Regional Development Association, EnoTurismo – a mosaic of experiences, the Association of Municipalities of Wine and WINEinMODERATION.
