The event is taking place until the 2nd of April, in an enclosure in Quinta do Anjo, in the municipality of Palmela, and Setúbal offers itself to be tasted, with identity and flavor, in its own space, with some of the best products from the region of Setubal.
“It is a pleasure to participate in this very traditional festival to promote and publicize this region and the Arrábida heritage, which is why Setúbal is also represented here with some of the most noble and well-known products”, highlighted President André Martins.
In the space of the municipality of Sadino, over the three days, in an innovative approach, some of the best products of the Sadino territory will be tested, such as orange peels, Muscat from Setúbal and oysters from Sado.
The participation of Setubal in the Queijo, Pão e Vinho festival, underlined the mayor, values the territory and “all the diversity it has and represents, an enormous wealth”, in a mix of tradition combined with innovation and modernity.
“It is also the responsibility of the City Council to help preserve much of what is our tradition, giving it more notoriety and also creating conditions for it to last and evolve.”
At the start of Cheese, Bread and Wine, the Setúbal space, branded “Território com Identidade e Sabor – Gastronomia e Vinhos”, featured a tasting of Muscat from Setúbal and products from the companies Cegas Tradições and Ostras Sobre Rodas.
On April 1st, the space offers tastings of bread from Faralhão and wines from the municipality of Setúbal, as well as orange peels and sweet oysters and samples of products from Ostras sobre Rodas.
Also noteworthy on this day, at 18 pm, is a showcooking session with feijoada de horns, promoted by Setúbal Pesca – Associação de Pesca Artesanal, to be held in the festival auditorium.
For the last day of the event, on April 2nd, the space promoted by the Setúbal City Council reserves tastings of Belmar and Cardume preserves in Faralhão bread and tastings of orange peels and sweet oysters.
Cheese, Bread and Wine is organized by ARCOLSA – Serra da Arrábida Regional Dairy Sheep Breeders Association, with the support of Palmela City Council and the Quinta do Anjo Parish Council.
The president of ARCOLSA, Francisco Macheta, stated that this is a unique event, with 27 years of tradition, which “promotes a very close proximity between producers and consumers”.
The mayor of Palmela, Álvaro Amaro, highlighted the diversity and quality of the “products of excellence blessed by the Arrábida territory” and the role of the event for “sustainability” of the sector.
