The cuttlefish week is highlighted between the 4th and 13th in more than sixty restaurants in a gastronomic week that also includes a promotion action in Cascais, a walking tour and a commented tasting.
The event, organized by the Municipality of Setúbal, with the support of Docapesca, Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Setúbal, Quinta de Catralvos and Cascais FoodLab, includes a walking tour of the Sado Estuary on the last day, March 13, at 09:30 am.
“O choco e o Estuário do Sado”, with a duration of two and a half hours, invites participants to know details related to the second largest national estuary and one of the largest in Europe and to be fascinated by the biology and life history of the cuttlefish.
The “Probable Encounters” is scheduled for 17:15 pm, which includes a guided tour of the Forte de Albarquel followed by a commented tasting led by chefs João Mestre, from Cascais FoodLab, and Mauro Loureiro, from the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Setúbal, accompanied by of wines from Quinta de Catralvos.
Participation in the events is free, upon prior registration, limited, until March 9, at the email address gape@mun-setubal.pt.
Choco Week starts on the 4th with a promotion action at the Cascais FoodLab space at Mercado da Vila, in Cascais, which includes a live cooking class led by chef Mauro Loureiro followed by tasting.
The Choco Week, with the participation of 64 restaurants, is part of the municipal brand Setúbal Terra de Peixe, which, annually, includes a set of initiatives with the objective of valuing the restoration and regional gastronomy.
490 Taberna STB, A Barreira, A Casa do Peixe, A Vela Branca, Adearroz, Adega do Zé, Adega dos Garrafões, Adega Leo do Petisco, Salt Water, Lettuce Daughter, Antóniu's, Port, Pier 56, Calhabem, Casa de Pasto O Orlando, Casa Lagarto, Casa Morena, Churrasquinho do Sado, Copa D'Ouro, Estrela do Sado, Ferribote, Florida and Mar Azul are some of the participating spaces.
The list also includes Restaurante Martroia, Nova Taberna O Pescador, Novo 10, Novo Capote, O Lettuce, O Anzol, O Batareo, O Convés, O Douradinho, O Jacques, O Pescador II, O Petisco, O Praxedes, O Quintal, O Ramila, O Saveiro, O Tavira, Oficina do Peixe, Parreirinha do Sado, Patio dos Golfinhos, Peixe no Largo, Peixoco, Petisqueira do Manel, Pinga Amor 2, Pizzeria Veneza and Restaurant O Novo Lídia.
Ó Manel Restaurant, O Migas, O Sonho Restaurant, Xtoria, O Velho Lídia Restaurant, Restinguinha, Sab'amar, Sem Horas, Solar do Marquês, Tasca da Avenida, Tasca do Choco, Tasca do Toninho, Tasca do Xico da Cana, Tasca Kefish and Verde e Branco complete the list of 64 participating restaurants.
