A set of recreational-pedagogical activities to enhance the traditional arts and crafts of Setúbal are part of the program commemorating the National Day of the Mills, on the 2nd and 3rd of April, at Moinho de Maré da Mourisca.
The “Entre Marés & Tradições” program, promoted by the Municipality of Setúbal with partnerships, includes an exhibition of popular crafts and the sale of handicrafts, a photographic safari and ceramic and macramé workshops aimed at children, families and nature lovers.
The “Arts e Ofícios” market, with an exhibition of traditions and popular crafts from Setúbal and the sale of handicrafts from the region, on both days between 09:30 am and 19:30 pm, is one of the highlights of the commemorative program for the National Day of the Mills, marked on 7 Of april.
On the 2nd, at 14:30 pm, children and families are challenged to create unique and personalized ceramic pieces in the workshop “Hands in the clay".
At 3, at the same time, parents and children can build small bells inspired by the animals and plants of Herdade da Mourisca in the workshop "Spring bells”, which combines ceramics with basic macramé techniques.
Registration for each workshop costs five euros per participant
At 15:00 on the same day the departure of the VIII Photographic Safari “Trails and Tides”, at ten euros per person.
With mobile phone or camera in hand, participants can collect unique images and get to know a little better the flora and fauna of the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve.
The first part of the initiative takes place on the river, aboard the Mirasado boat, followed by a walking tour, lasting about an hour, along the trails of Herdade da Mourisca.
