A retrospective exhibition by artist Teresa Sousa was opened on Saturday afternoon at Galeria Municipal do 11, where it can be seen until March 9th.
“Teresa Sousa (1928-1962) – Illustrated Biography”, whose inauguration was attended by the councilor for Culture, Pedro Pina, recalls the work of this creator, who expressed herself in multiple languages, supports and techniques, in a talent unexpectedly interrupted, at just 33 years old, a week after the birth of her second child.
In this exhibition, organized in partnership with the Municipality of Setúbal, an anthological retrospective of the artist's work is presented, which constitutes the first major exhibition in which works in all the main languages in which she expressed herself are exposed to the public, including almost all work of engraving, painting, drawing and even a tapestry.
The exhibition path also includes elements of the academic path, learning materials in Atelier 17, preparatory studies and matrices of some exhibited works, and exhibition catalogues.
The exhibition can be seen until March 9th at Galeria Municipal do 11, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 00pm and from 13pm to 00pm.
