SHELLFISH WEEK

The month of March begins in Setúbal with the best flavor coming from the sea, with bivalves highlighted, between the 1st and 10th, in several restaurants in Setúbal.

More than three dozen restaurants, precisely 34, offer menus in which the region's bivalves are the special ingredients during this gastronomic week, which also includes an educational workshop aimed at younger audiences and a meeting with documented tastings.

The pedagogical workshop takes place on March 2, starting at 15:30 pm, at the Setúbal Municipal Public Library, and is based on the children's story “A Ostra Sostra e o Mexilhão Molengão”, by Conceição Oliveira.

The activity, expected to last an hour and a half, is aimed at children over 3 years old and is free to participate, with a limited number of registrations, which must be made by February 29th here.

The following day, on March 3, from 16:30 pm, chef Luís Alves leads a Probable Encounters session during which participants can taste different flavors provided by the region's bivalves, along with wines from Quinta de Catralvos, a local wine producer. where this initiative takes place.

Chef Luís Alves is part of the team at the Setúbal Hotel and Tourism School, a partner with the Setúbal City Council in organizing the event, promoted under the Setúbal Terra de Peixe brand.

Those interested in attending this Probable Meetings, which are expected to last two and a half hours, must register, free of charge, also by February 29th, on this link.

This activity is open to participants at least 18 years old.

During the remaining period of Bivalves Week, the event's gastronomic offer can be enjoyed through the menus of the restaurants A Casa do Peixe, Adega do Zé, Adega dos Garrafões, Alface Filha, Antóniu's, Cais 56, Charroco, Chez Nando, Copa D' Ouro, Florida, Martroia, Novo 10, O Batareo, O Bote, O Convés and O Dias Marisqueira.

The list of participating spaces is complete with O Migas, O Pescador II, O Saveiro, O Tavira, Oficina do Peixe, Ostras Sobre Rodas, Peixe no Largo, Pérola da Mourisca, Petisqueira do Manel, Pinga Amor Marisqueira, Rebarca, Restinguinha, Rio Azul Marisqueira, Solar do Marquês, Tasca da Avenida, Tasca do Duca, Tasca Kefish and Xtoria.

Bivalve Week is organized with the support of Bivalmar, Quinta de Catralvos, Rota dos Vinhos da Península de Setúbal and the Regional Wine Commission of the Península de Setúbal.
