The exhibition “So here we are!” shares with the public 24 works that result from the challenge of developing creativity and technique through watercolor, pen and colored pencils embraced by Eduarda Colares after her diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in 2020.
There are also objects used in the creation of the drawings, such as glasses, pencils, erasers, watercolors and pens, as well as a photograph of Maria Eduarda Colares taken in 1975 at the Abrinício advertising agency by Carlos Paulo Barata Simões, a drawing made when she was a child and another by grandfather Fernando Colares, from 1964.
Maria Eduarda Colares, who passed away on October 12, aged 79, was Lauro António's life partner and provided important support in the process of creating Casa das Imagens, a municipal facility that houses the collection donated by the filmmaker to the Setúbal City Council, with close to 50 thousand pieces, in different contents, related to audiovisuals.
Eduarda Colares was a reference in her advertising and creative director career, during which she created unforgettable campaigns such as “Say good morning with Mokambo”, “Luso, as natural as your thirst” and “Was it you who ordered a Porto Ferreira?” . She was responsible for the image and communication of the television station TVI and wrote the book of short stories “Coisas que não se disse”. In 2020, she received the Career Award from the Clube dos Criativos.
