During the initiative of the City Council, promoted within the scope of the project to promote tourism and regional products “Setúbal Terra de Peixe”, 31 restaurant establishments in the municipality offer dishes especially focused on oysters on their menus.
In addition to the more traditional ways of making the mollusc characteristic of the Sado Estuary, some restaurants include more daring proposals, such as A Casa do Peixe, which suggests oysters with vinaigrette and honey muscatel, Xtoria, with creative oysters, or Sem Horas. , which promotes the oyster ceviche this week.
In parallel, the Oyster Week program develops a special promotion action in Lisbon, in the Belém area, on the 29th, 30th and 31st of March, as well as on the 1st of April.
On these dates, between 11:00 am and 19:30 pm, oysters from regional producers in Setúbal will be sold in the foodtruck Ostras Sobre Rodas.
“Oysters and Birds in the Sado Estuary” is the thematic proposal of a walking tour scheduled for April 3rd and conducted by Biotrails, Découverte and SPEA – Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds.
The tour lasts for three hours and registration, worth 22 euros, with a 10 percent discount for SPEA members, must be made by April 1 on this link.
The pedagogical workshop “As Ostras do Sado”, on the 9th, at 14:30 pm, at Moinho de Maré da Mourisca, is an activity designed for the younger audience, with free participation, but mandatory registration until April 5th. at this address.
The workshop, aimed at people over 5 years old, seeks to awaken creativity through the creation of ornaments from oyster shells, in an action that also ends up promoting ecological values and the protection of Nature.
“Probable encounters: interpretive visit and commented tasting with Découverte oysters and wines from Quinta da Bacalhôa” is the proposal reserved for April 10, at 17:15 pm, at Moinho de Maré da Mourisca.
