The Curumim Project develops in the morning, from 10:30 am, in the José Afonso Room, a plastic expression workshop in clay for children aged 8 to 35 months.
The activity, designed to develop children's sensory stimuli and creative process, has a registration fee of five euros.
As clay is the chosen vehicle for expression for the youngest, a change of clothes is advisable for the end of the initiative.
The commemorative program promoted by the Setúbal City Council for another anniversary of the Casa da Cultura continues in the afternoon, with a presentation by the publisher Cassetes Anicha, scheduled to start at 15:00 pm, also in the Sala José Afonso and with free entry.
This is an Experimentáculo project and is the result of this cultural association's activity in organizing musical events.
Through the publisher Anicha, Experimentáculo releases, over the course of 12 months and on cassette, six concerts recorded live throughout the history of the association.
The presentation of the project features the participation of the founder of the association and Cassetes Anicha, Pedro Soares, as well as Carlos Curto, actor, director, musician and leader of the Sign project, a group included in one of the concerts to be launched by the new label.
The celebrations at Casa da Cultura continue with a combo from the Capricho Setubalense Jazz and Improvised Music School, which will present standards and other jazz repertoire themes in a concert to be held at Pátio do Dimas, at 18 pm, with free entry.
Later, Ana Deus and Luca Argel star in “Drinking Songs, with Pessoa”, a concert inspired by the poems that Fernando Pessoa wrote based on the songs and verses of the Persian poet, mathematician and astronomer Omar Khayyam.
The show, organized by Experimentáculo, is free and takes place, from 21:30 pm, in the space outside the Casa da Cultura, in front of the main entrance.
The Casa da Cultura, opened by the Municipal Council in 2012 in the downtown area of Setúbal, is a space for the promotion and creation of various forms of art, and is run by the Municipality in partnership with different institutions in the municipality.
It occupies the building where the Círculo Cultural de Setúbal operated, linked to the promotion of citizenship and the proliferation of access to culture, especially in the years leading up to the 25th of April 1974.
