The 15th World Fishing Championship on Anchored Boat Clubs, taking place in Setúbal, is, in addition to the competitive aspect, an opportunity to captivate participants to return to enjoy the city, said the mayor.
“It is a great honor for us to receive these delegations of fishermen, who will have the opportunity to enjoy this landscape, this blue river, the Sado River, which has one of the most beautiful bays in the world, and our Serra da Arrábida, with that always very strong green that will accompany you on the two days of fishing that you will have on our coast”, stressed André Martins, at the opening ceremony, held on 14 May.
The mayor considered that, "with all this environment, the conditions for good fishing are created", hoping that at the end of the test "everyone will be very satisfied with the conditions that are created here to develop this activity" and urged the participants to visit the region after the competition.
“I hope, and people from Setúbal hope that, after this initiative, they will return to Setúbal to better enjoy these natural conditions that we have here. Thank you all very much and good fishing”, he wished.
