The city's relationship with the port of Setúbal and the sea, from the perspective of a sustainable economy, is being analyzed at a meeting that will take place on November 22nd, starting at 14pm, at Cinema Charlot – Municipal Auditorium.
In the “Meeting of the Sea – History, Economy, Environment, Social Responsibility”, organized by AEZULMAR – Associação Economia Azul in partnership with the City Council and the Administration of the Ports of Setúbal and Sesimbra, as part of the port's centenary celebrations, the themes such as sport, history, economy, environment and social responsibility, which relate the port and the city, taking into account the sustainable maritime economy and the circular economy.
The president of Setúbal City Council, André Martins, participates in the opening, scheduled for 14:15 pm, which will be followed, from 14:25 pm, by the presentation of the program and the speakers participating in the event, made by Eduardo Almeida Faria.
“The History and Evolution of the city and its Port of Setúbal” is the theme of the first round table, starting at 14:35 pm, moderated by Admiral Alexandre da Fonseca, with speeches by Vítor Caldeirinha, who talks about the evolution of the activity port over the years, Diogo Ferreira, with a historical analysis of Setúbal and the port, and João Delgado, who addresses the history of fishing in the municipality.
This is followed, at 15:40 pm, by “Flash companies”, a moment that features a series of small presentations from companies linked to the maritime economy.
The second round table, “Blue Economy, moderated by Admiral Gonçalves de Brito, has as speakers Isabel Moura Ramos, who presents the theme “The future of the port and its impact on the Economy”, Tiago Pinho and Ricardo Salgado, who talk about “ Training for the future”, and Nuno Maia, who addresses the theme of “Associativism and local development”.
The closing session is scheduled for 17:15 pm with an intervention from the president of the APSS board of directors, Carlos Correia.
Parallel to this meeting, with free entry and no need to register, sporting activities take place in the municipality's schools, in the morning, from 09:00 am to 11:30 am.
