The Street Food Portugal Tour caravan stops at Largo José Afonso, in Setúbal, for three days of international cuisine, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of September, accompanied by a cultural program and children's entertainment.
Setúbal hosts the sixth stage of the second edition of the food on wheels tour of Portugal, organized by Pureat with the support of the City Council and the partnership of the Street Food Portugal Association, in what is the first itinerant concept in street food events with the objective to democratize a unique gastronomy and street show experience.
The caravan is made up of eleven food trucks, which present a diversified gastronomic offer, representative of several countries, including Portugal.
Petiska, Karnívora, Iconic Pizza, Ganso's, Petiscato, Sabores do Kitaba, Las Pampenadas, La Charrete, Fat Daddies, Basstani and Licor Beirão are present at Largo José Afonso on this stage of the Street Food Portugal Tour in Setubal.
Karnívora offers a taste of the famous American steakburger, made with 100% beef, but the menu also includes fresh fries, fried chicken strips, Kentucky-style chicken wings, mozzarella croquettes, milkshakes and stuffed donuts.
Iconic Pizza reinvents pizza in a cone format and Ganso's, considered the only food truck in Portugal dedicated to inclusive food, serves Venezuelan-style empanadas and arepas made with corn flour
Petiscato proposes a varied offer of snacks and pasta, while Fat Daddies offers an experience with grilled meats, which are seasoned with a dry marinade with different spices and watered with juice and apple cider vinegar before being placed on a wood-smoking barbecue cherry and orange trees from the Algarve.
At Largo José Afonso there is also space for barbecue chicken wings and fried cuttlefish, at the Sabores do Kitaba food truck, for Argentinean empanadas at Las Pampenadas and for Mexican food specialties at Petiska.
For dessert, the Portuguese brand Basstani, which means ice cream in Persian, showcases its artisanal ice creams with flavors, colors and aromas from the Middle East, such as saffron, rose water, vanilla and pistachio, and La Charrete features different combinations of crepes and waffles.
The meal can be rounded off with a digestive at the Licor Beirão space, which serves drinks such as Caipirão, Morangão or Per Se.
In an enclosure that has inflatables for children and a space dedicated to pets, entertainment is also guaranteed by two shows by the Caipirinha group, on the 8th, between 20 pm and 00 pm, and by a saxophonist, on the 22th, between 00:9 and 19:00.
Associação Street Food Portugal, which has organized several promotional initiatives, is an independent non-profit entity that aims to encourage the development, deepening and learning of products that contribute to the growth and innovation of the sector, as well as affirming a Portuguese street food culture , adding cultural, social, tourist and economic value.
The concept of this event is a tour of Portugal with food trucks, with stops in ten cities, between June 16th and November 12th.
In Setúbal, opening hours are from 18:00 pm to 23:00 pm on Friday, September 8th, from 12:00 pm to midnight on Saturday, the 24th, and from 00:9 pm to 12:00 pm on Sunday, the 16th.
