The 11th Setúbal International Music Festival is in the final stretch, providing, until the 28th of May, several initiatives, with emphasis on concerts by Júlio Resende and Fado Jazz Ensemble and by Henk Van Twillert with Vento do Norte.
On the 26th, at 21 pm, the Luísa Todi Municipal Forum welcomes Júlio Resende and the Fado Jazz Ensemble for a concert of jazz rhythms to the sound of the saudade song, which includes the participation of the Setúbal Children's Choir and the Escola de Jazz da Capricho Setubalense.
The penultimate day of the event, the 27th, reserves, at 17 pm, at the José Maria da Fonseca House-Museum, in Azeitão, a concert by Henk Van Twillert with Vento do Norte, in which the Academia Música e Belas-Artes Luísa Todi and the regional conservatories of Palmela and Setúbal.
Later, at 21:00, the Igreja do Convento de Jesus receives the Ensemble Vocal Nova Era, a formation with the musical direction of João Barros, composed of 24 young musicians, who interpret themes of contemporary choral music, in a concert with which the Academy participates. of Music of Almada.
The last day, the 28th, of this edition of the festival organized by A7M – Associação Festival de Música de Setúbal with the Setúbal City Council and The Helen Hamlyn Trust, begins with the concert “Escrita de Canções”, scheduled for the Luísa Municipal Forum Todi.
The show has two sessions, at 10:00 am, with schools n.º 7 Fonte do Lavra, n.º 1 das Areias and dos Arcos and, at 11:00, with schools from Viso, Brejoeira, Brejos do Clérigo and n.º 6 do Monte Belo, directed by Carlos Garrote and accompanied by Ariel Rodriguez, Ale Damasceno and Ana Marques.
The 11th Setúbal International Music Festival, with the theme “Listen to the Difference”, closes at 18 pm, also at the Luísa Todi Municipal Forum, with a concert by the Setúbal International Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Pablo Urbina .
The program also features, on the 27th, at 11 am, in the auditorium of the Mercado do Livramento, the conference Artistic Practices, Dialogues and Communities, and a retrospective exhibition of the Setúbal International Music Festival, which is open until the 00th of June in the Fort of Albarquel.
This edition of the Setúbal International Music Festival also features, on the 25th, at the Luísa Todi Municipal Forum, with a concert by Bárbara Tinoco, accompanied on some themes by the Setúbal Children's Choir.
The 2023 edition of the festival kicked off on the 19th with the usual percussion parade through the streets of the city and has already booked concerts, among others, with Camané, Ensemble Juvenil de Setúbal with Ana Laíns, Orquestra Académica Metropolitana and Pulsat Percussion Group.
