A Vogue cover model, Lee Miller left behind a life of glamour and headed into the heart of World War II, becoming one of the first to witness and report on the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps. A courageous pioneer, Lee Miller traveled from the United States to London at the start of the Great War. During the air raids, she managed to convince Vogue to report on the courage of British women under siege, with photographs she had taken. Then, armed with a camera, a typewriter and an American pass, she went to the front lines and witnessed the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp. Back in England, it is up to her only son, Antony Penrose, to unravel the mysteries of the mother he would like to know better: an incredible woman, a woman with a secret, who did not allow even her personal demons to get in the way of living a real life.
