Objects, photographs and documents related to the production of “A Christmas Carol”, a film by Lauro António, played by Raul Solnado, have been on display since Saturday in an exhibition at Casa das Imagens, in Setúbal.
In “Conto de Natal”, made in 1988 for RTP, with a script written in partnership with João Maria Tudela, Raul Solnado plays two characters, a rich man and a poor man, in a story that portrays two solitudes on any Christmas night.
The script, the shooting map, the generic and the storyboard, along with a set of other photographic and documentary curiosities, are shared in the exhibition “Christmas Carol – A Film in Exhibition”, opened on Saturday afternoon with the presence of the filmmaker Frederico Corado, son of Lauro António.
The exhibition organized by the City Council as part of the Christmas in Setúbal 2023 program, with free entry, can be visited until the 6th of January, from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 00pm and from 13pm to 00pm, as well as on Saturdays between at 14:00 pm and 18:00 pm.
Alongside the exhibition, the cinema cycle “Christmas at the Cinema” is also taking place at Casa das Imagens Lauro António, with the screening of five films selected by Frederico Corado, which began on Saturday with the screening of the film that gave rise to the exhibition.
This is followed in November by “A Christmas Carol”, by Clive Donner, on the 18th, and “From the Sky Fell a Star”, by Frank Capra, on the 25th.
In December, “A Muppet Christmas Carol”, by Brian Henson, on the 2nd, and “Elf – The False Elf”, by John Favreau, on the 16th, are shown.
The sessions, starting at 15pm, have free entry upon reservation by contacting 00 969 754 and casadasimagens@mun-setubal.pt.
