The draft regulation for the use of the Portinho da Arrábida Bridge-Pier and the mooring spaces at the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park was approved yesterday, at a public meeting of the Setúbal City Council.
The document establishes the criteria for the allocation of parking spots in the mooring spaces of Portinho da Arrábida, with a total of 70 spaces, and Galapos, with 10 spaces, both located in the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park.
The definition of the criteria for attributing mooring points in Portinho da Arrábida and Galapos is the responsibility of the Setúbal City Council, as the managing entity, and takes into account the order in which licensing requests are entered, the characteristics of the vessels and their suitability for the place of parking, as well as the number of available mooring points.
The draft regulation, to be submitted to public consultation for a period of 30 working days, also defines that the granting of authorization to use individual mooring points is limited to vessels up to eight meters in length overall and four-stroke engines.
Holders of mooring points are not permitted to transfer or transfer parking spaces to third parties, even temporarily, “except in situations of recognized urgency and duly authorized by the managing entity”.
With regard to the period of operation of the mooring spaces, the document establishes, in article 5, point no. 1, that Portinho da Arrábida “is considered a port of shelter in the period between the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October.”
Point no. 2 of the same article states that the period of operation of the Galapos mooring space, made up of ten boat parking points, to the west of the beach, only operates during the bathing season.
Staying in this space is limited from sunrise to one hour before sunset, “and may be changed by agreement between the entities responsible for managing this territory depending on the weather conditions at the time”.
The draft regulation for the use of the Portinho da Arrábida Bridge-Pier and the mooring spaces of the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park also highlights that users of the Portinho da Arrábida Bridge-Pier and the mooring spaces are responsible for damage caused to them. infrastructures and other associated equipment.
Under article 9, the Setúbal City Council “is not responsible for any loss, damage, accidents, theft or robbery of vessels parked in the mooring spaces”.
