World Wine Tourism Day, which takes place on November 12th, has a program of activities in several wineries on the Setúbal Peninsula, with an emphasis on guided tours.
In the municipality of Setúbal, the “Adegas de Portas Abertas” initiative showcases, on the 12th, the Adega Museu Bacalhôa, at 10:30am, and José Maria da Fonseca, at 15pm, while on the 00th, Quinta de Catralvos is on display at from 19am.

The event, initially called European Wine Tourism Day, was established in 2009 by Recevin, the European Network of Wine Cities, and took on, in 2019, a global nature with the integration of Ameteur – World Wine Tourism Association.
In the context of the Setúbal Peninsula, wine tourism has helped to enhance the natural and architectural heritage by providing experiences that bring together wine, architectural and natural components, at the same time contributing to the preservation of wine culture, stimulating the local economy and promoting tourism sustainable.
